On the remote Pacific Island of Tanna, Vanuatu, making field recordings for the film ‘Tanna’

I am a freelance sound designer & re-recording mixer specialising in feature films, with over 20 years experience in sound post production. I have lived and worked in Australia, China & the UK as well as working remotely on US studio productions.

Career highlights include Zhang Yimou’s multilingual World War II epic The Flowers of War on which I worked as the supervising dialogue editor. This work was rewarded with the 2012 Motion Picture Sound Editors of the USA Golden Reel Award for Best Sound Editing in a Feature Foreign Language Film.

I received another MPSE Golden Reel for Wong Kar Wai’s martial arts blockbuster The Grandmaster, on which I worked as a sound designer.

Two films on which I worked in 2017 were nominated for Oscars; Lion for Best Feature Film and Tanna for Best Foreign Language Feature Film. Lion stole the show at Australia’s AACTA awards – winning in every category in which it was nominated, including best sound.

I am currently based in Melbourne, Australia, but continue to work on projects worldwide. Please feel free to get in touch with me to see if I can help with your next project.
